Hi, I'm Lauren! I am honored to be going on a trip of a lifetime to teach abroad in Lima, Peru. I am so excited to learn more deeply about the Peruvian culture, compare educational systems in the United States to Peru, and practice my Spanish language. I hope to take what I learn about instruction, classroom management, and culture back to my future classroom. I have been looking forward to this experience for years, and I am so excited it is coming to fruition.
I knew I wanted to student teach abroad in a Spanish-speaking country, but I was unaware that Peru would be an option. This year is the pilot year for student teachers in Peru, and I am excited to be one of those who gets to pave the way for others to also have the same experience.

After finishing 7 weeks at my first placement in an 8th grade math classroom, I am so excited to take my new skills with me to Peru. I feel as though I have already grown so much as an educator and I am excited to take another step. However, I would not be this far without the support of my friends, family, and 8th grade team helping me along the way!
